Australian singer and former elite swimmer Cody Simpson is heading to the Scottish Highlands, joining the cast of the next season of The Traitors US.
Simpson has been confirmed among the 23 contestants entering the castle for Season 6, joining RuPaul’s Drag Race winner Bianca Del Rio, Broadway star Kristin Chenoweth and The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives star Whitney Leavitt.
The cast also features a swathe of Bravo stars, including Gizelle Bryant from The Real Housewives of Potomac, Craig Conover from Southern Charm and Emira D’Spain from Next Gen NYC, alongside other faces from reality television.
While best known in Australia as a singer, Simpson built much of his early career in the US after moving to Los Angeles as a teenager, finding an audience through YouTube, signing with Atlantic Records and touring with Justin Bieber.
He has also appeared on US television, including Dancing with the Stars, while becoming a familiar face on Australian TV after winning the first season of The Masked Singer Australia in 2019.
Sister Alli Simpson is no stranger to the spotlight or 10 reality shows either, appearing on both I’m a Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here! and The Masked Singer Australia in 2021, before competing alongside her mum Angie on The Amazing Race Australia in 2023.
He later stepped away from music to pursue his childhood dream of competitive swimming, representing Australia at the 2022 Commonwealth Games before returning his focus to music and television.
Most recently, he performed the Australian national anthem before the San Francisco 49ers and Los Angeles Rams faced off at the Melbourne Cricket Ground in the NFL’s first regular-season game in Australia earlier this month.
Now, he’ll be swapping the stage and swimming pool for Alan Cumming’s Scottish castle, where he’ll compete alongside a new group of reality stars, athletes and entertainers in the game of deception, which is set to premiere in early 2027.
