Best friends and nurses Mary and Golden are the latest team heading into the My Kitchen Rules kitchen, bringing the vibrant flavours of their Filipino heritage to the competition.
The pair, who met while studying nursing in the Philippines before moving to Australia in 2004, are hoping their time on the Seven cooking competition will help put Filipino cuisine in the spotlight.
Now, the longtime friends are ready to combine their passion for food with the culture and traditions they have carried with them to Australia.
For Mary, the competition is an opportunity to introduce more Australians to Filipino food and the culture behind it.
“We want to show that our food is made with love. Sharing our cuisine, culture and roots on MKR is our way of thanking Australia for giving us a new home.”
Golden is equally keen to introduce viewers to Filipino cuisine and the culture that sits behind the food they cook.
“I want Australians to experience Filipino cuisine in all its forms. Through our food, I hope they see just how hospitable, generous and caring Filipinos are.”
With Golden’s calm and grounded nature balancing Mary’s infectious energy, the best friends are hoping to bring plenty of personality to the My Kitchen Rules kitchen — and showcase the food and heritage they are so passionate about.
Mary and Golden join the previously announced teams for the 2026 season, including Alisha and Deanne, Angus and Simon, and Jane and Shane.
