My Kitchen Rules best friends Alisha and Deanne are promising plenty of noise, laughs and kitchen chaos when they make their appearance on the Seven cooking competition.

The pair describe themselves as “classy bogans”, with their friendship and larger-than-life personalities set to be a major part of their time on My Kitchen Rules.

Their menu will focus on simple, home-style food packed with flavour, including Alisha’s nan’s sticky date pudding and Deanne’s birria tacos.

For the longtime friends, their partnership extends well beyond the kitchen.

Alisha said the pair shared similar personalities and were rarely short of something to say.

“We’re two peas in a pod.

We’re both chaotic, loud, in-your-face, crazy, funny and quick-witted – and we have absolutely no filter.”

Deanne offered a similar assessment of their close relationship.

“We have massive personalities and are basically one brain.

We always say we must have been switched at birth because we should be twins.”

The pair first met at school as teenagers and have remained close ever since.

They now spend almost all of their free time together, with plenty of “yapping” part of the friendship and little opportunity for anyone else to get a word into the conversation.

That relationship will follow Alisha and Deanne into the My Kitchen Rules competition, where the pair are also prepared to stand their ground around the table.

According to promotional material for the program, the self-described “classy bogans” will be ready to respond if challenged by their fellow contestants.

Their appearance will also put their home-style cooking to the test, with dishes carrying personal connections alongside the pair’s energetic approach in the kitchen.

For Alisha, that includes her nan’s sticky date pudding, while Deanne will serve birria tacos.

The two friends enter the competition with a relationship dating back to their teenage school years and a dynamic they describe as loud, chaotic and quick-witted.

My Kitchen Rules is coming soon to Seven and 7plus.
