BBC Studios has today announced the appointment of Liz Baldwin to a newly created ANZ leadership role, placing her in charge of the company’s streaming platforms and channel portfolio across Australia and New Zealand.
In the role of Senior Vice President, Head of Streaming & Channels, ANZ, Baldwin will oversee BBC Studios’ streaming platforms and channel portfolio, including BritBox Australia and the company’s BBC branded linear services.
She will commence in the role on August 31, reporting to Robi Stanton, President Media & Streaming and General Manager, APAC, at BBC Studios.
Stanton said Baldwin’s experience across streaming, digital strategy and transformation made her a strong fit to help drive the company’s next phase of growth in the region.
“As we continue to evolve our streaming and channels business in ANZ, Liz’s leadership will be instrumental in delivering our ambitions.”
Baldwin joins BBC Studios from Tapt Media, the media company that acquired Nine’s former radio assets, where she currently serves as Head of Digital Growth & Strategy, leading audience and revenue growth initiatives across the company’s digital platforms.
Prior to that, she held senior leadership roles at Paramount Australia & New Zealand, including serving as Senior Vice President, Head of Streaming, where she oversaw major streaming and digital transformation initiatives across Paramount+.
Her appointment comes as BBC Studios continues to expand its streaming and channels business across the region, including BritBox Australia and a portfolio of BBC branded services.
Baldwin said the opportunity to join BBC Studios comes at a significant moment for the industry as audiences continue to embrace streaming and digital platforms.
“BBC Studios’ commitment to world class content, combined with its growing streaming and digital ambitions, creates a fantastic opportunity.”
The appointment forms part of BBC Studios’ broader focus on digital growth and innovation as competition for streaming audiences continues to intensify across the Australian and New Zealand market.
