Sam Pang might have officially shut the door on another Logies hosting stint, but the star has offered a few suggestions on who could step into one of Australian television’s highest profile gigs.

Speaking on Nova’s Fitzy, Wippa & Kate on Tuesday ahead of the premiere of his new ABC comedy series Ground Up, Pang again confirmed he will not be returning to host the TV Week Logie Awards after three consecutive years at the helm.

The comedian revealed organisers approached him about returning, but he politely declined after hosting the ceremony in 2023, 2024 and 2025.

“No…I’ve done three, and that was more than enough.”

Pang, who also continues as a panellist on Seven’s The Front Bar and is expected to return to 10 later this year for another season of Sam Pang Tonight, said he was ready to hand the baton to someone else.

When asked who could replace him, Pang suggested several comedy heavy contenders, including Kitty Flanagan, Anne Edmonds and The Cheap Seats duo Tim McDonald and Melanie Bracewell, before jokingly adding celebrity chef Pete Evans to the mix.

“I think that Kitty Flanagan or Anne Edmonds or Tim McDonald and Melanie Bracewell from The Cheap Seats… I think Pete Evans would be a good one as well. There’s so many that could do it!”

The endorsement of McDonald and Bracewell comes just days after TV Blackbox’s own Kevin Perry argued the pair should be handed the hosting duties for this year’s ceremony.

The discussion then took an unexpected turn when Kate Ritchie argued the awards show should ditch the jokes altogether and hand the hosting duties to a newsreader, with Peter Overton among the names floated.

Pang’s comments also come after comedian and Seven quiz host Jim Jefferies recently revealed he had previously been approached to host the Logies before Pang ultimately took on the role, but turned the opportunity down.

Pang’s final verdict? There are plenty of capable candidates waiting in the wings as speculation continues over who will front this year’s Logies.
