The 2026 NBA Finals are underway, with ESPN bringing every game of basketball’s biggest championship series live to Australian viewers as the race for the Larry O’Brien Trophy heats up.

The New York Knicks have already taken an early advantage, defeating the San Antonio Spurs 105-95 in Game 1 on Thursday as the battle for the NBA title gathers momentum.

New York’s victory continued a remarkable postseason run as the franchise chases its first NBA championship since 1973.

The Spurs, led by young superstar Victor Wembanyama, will look to respond when the series resumes this weekend, while the Knicks aim to build on their strong start before the Finals shift to New York.

The series continues with Game 2 live from San Antonio on Saturday morning.
