Jesse and Paige leave The Block in an emotional episode. Discover why their exit has rocked the competition and what it means for the remaining contestants.
Monday night on The Block (Episode 17) saw a wave of emotion sweep over the competition as Jesse and Paige from Western Australia made the heart-wrenching decision to leave the show.
The move left Phillip Island shaken, and their departure marks a turning point that will undoubtedly change the dynamic of The Block.
The decision came after a heated argument between the couple on the Friday prior, which was overheard by their neighbours, Courtney and Grant in House 2. The tension escalated to the point where The Block’s executive producer, Justin Sturzaker, felt compelled to intervene. He informed the pair that they had to make a choice — things simply couldn’t continue in the same vein.
After some tough conversations with Scott Cam, the couple came to a mutual decision to leave, largely due to Paige’s struggles with her mental health. Displaying great courage, Jesse and Paige personally informed each team, offering their farewells with a final group hug. Their departure left everyone reeling, particularly Kylie, who was devastated by their absence.
In the midst of the emotional upheaval, the contestants faced the challenge of tackling one of the most pivotal rooms in the competition — the main bedroom and walk-in wardrobe. Kylie and Brad, who narrowly missed out on winning the previous week, had received positive feedback. However, despite being in a strong position, Kylie chose to hold on to their bonus penguin, determined to play it strategically in the future.
Meanwhile, Kristian and Mimi enjoyed their winners and grinners dinner, accompanied by Block alumni Ronnie and Georgia. The veteran pair caused quite a stir the following day when they turned up at The Block under the guise of being Jesse and Paige’s replacements. This cheeky stunt sent Kylie into a tailspin, prompting her to threaten to quit while out shopping with Haydn and Mimi.
It wasn’t long before Scott Cam stepped in to clear the air, explaining that Ronnie and Georgia were only present for the day to assist the new contestants. However, the prank did little to soothe Kylie, who remained frustrated by the drama and voiced her desire to have Jesse and Paige return.
