A series of leadership changes will reshape the Foxtel Group as the business continues its transition under DAZN ownership, with several senior roles set to change hands.

After weeks of speculation, the changes were confirmed by the group on Monday, with Foxtel Group board member Peter O’Connell named CEO and long-time commercial executive Mark Frain appointed CEO Streaming and Advertising.

The changes come as Patrick Delany, who has led the Foxtel Group as CEO since 2018 after previously heading Fox Sports, prepares to move to London as DAZN Group’s new Chief Operating Officer.

Delany will report to DAZN Group CEO Shay Segev and oversee global operations across marketing, content, sports rights, revenue and subscriber growth, content and production.

He will also remain chairman of the Foxtel Group and take on the chairmanship of DAZN’s local businesses in other markets.

O’Connell joined the Foxtel Group board as an independent director following DAZN’s acquisition of the business in 2025. He was also involved in the recent negotiations to extend Foxtel and Kayo Sports’ NRL rights through to the end of the 2034 season.

He brings a background in digital and consumer businesses, having founded and led telecommunications company Amaysim. He is currently chairman of ASX-listed Superloop and Autosports Group.

Frain has spent 20 years with the Foxtel Group and most recently led DAZN Media+, formerly known as Foxtel Media. In his new role, he will oversee the advertising business alongside Kayo Sports and BINGE.

The new role puts the group’s major streaming services and advertising operation under the same executive. Frain will focus on growing subscriptions while continuing to expand DAZN Media+.

The changes follow a series of moves that have further aligned the Foxtel Group with its DAZN parent.

At the group’s recent Upfronts, Foxtel Media was rebranded as DAZN Media+, while the Fox Sports linear branding is set to be replaced by Kayo Sports from 2027.

Fox Footy, Fox Cricket and Fox League will also become Kayo Footy, Kayo Cricket and Kayo League as part of the branding changes.

There are also changes elsewhere in the senior leadership team.

Hilary Perchard, currently CEO of Kayo Sports, BINGE and Foxtel, will return to Europe after six years in Australia and take on a consulting role with DAZN.

Julian Ogrin, who oversaw the integration of the Kayo Sports and BINGE apps onto the DAZN platform, will also leave the company after eight years to pursue new entrepreneurial ventures.

The leadership changes mark another step in the Foxtel Group’s transition under DAZN, with Delany moving into a global role while O’Connell and Frain take on new responsibilities across the Australian business.
