The couples are coming off the back of Feedback Week, where each couple faced tough questions and honest advice from their peers about their relationship.
In Eden and Jayden’s apartment, the couple has reached an unexpected stalemate. After last night’s Dinner Party, Eden revealed information to Jayden that Sara and her ex mocked and insulted Tim behind his back when they caught up.
Jayden wants to call Sara out on this, but Eden doesn’t want to cause any more friction with Sara and Tim. To try and keep the information a secret, Eden threatened Jayden with an ultimatum – either he keeps the information to himself, or Eden will leave him and the experiment for good – and Jayden is still reeling.
At the Commitment Ceremony, the first couple on the couch is Sara and Tim. Expert John reminds them at the previous Commitment Ceremony, Sara promised she would try to win Tim back. Tim says that he has seen a different side to Sara this week; she has been warm and affectionate. Sara again apologies to Tim for what she put him through during the first half of the experiment.
After muttering under his breath, Jayden interjects and claims that Sara is only saying the right things to save her image. He claims that Sara is being disingenuous because he heard she was making fun of Tim behind his back when she saw her ex-boyfriend. Sara denies this, and Jayden doubles down because Eden told him.
Clearly uncomfortable, Eden quickly tries to shut it down, saying she does not have the proof of what was said as she wasn’t there. Jayden gets annoyed, claiming that if she does not have the full details, she should not tell him. Lucinda and Jonathan defend Sara, noting that she has put in the work and there has been a positive change in their relationship.
Both write stay.
Lucinda and Timothy are next on the couch. Expert Alessandra jumps straight into their shock kiss at the Dinner Party. Lucinda says she had a proud moment and kissed Timothy on the cheek, and he followed it up with a pash on the lips. Timothy claims that it felt right to do, earning a round of applause from the group.
Alessandra then gets into Timothy’s emotional breakthrough. Timothy admits he has not been easy to deal with during the experiment, and the kiss made him realise that, at 51 years old, he’s wasted his years not lowering his walls and letting anyone in. Alessandra notes that for a man who is a self-proclaimed ‘slow burn,’ this is amazing progress.
They both write stay.
Jonathan is called onto the couch solo. He notes that Lauren’s surgery has gone well, and he cannot wait to see her again. Jonathan writes stay, and Expert Mel confirms that Lauren wrote stay as well.
Next is Cassandra and Tristan, and Tristan notes that after telling Cassandra he was in love with her and then seeing her write leave last week, he retreated and distanced himself. Cassandra says that the week was spent reflecting on their relationship and, last night, they decided they are better off as friends. Both write leave and finish off their time in the experiment expressing how much they mean to each other.
Next on the couch is Eden and Jayden. Jayden brings up the ultimatum Eden gave him about revealing the information about Sara mocking Tim behind his back, claiming that Eden wanted him to lie. Eden reveals that it was her anxiety that made her want Jayden to lie and clarified that she wanted to only leave the experiment, not leave Jayden.
Jayden gets emotional as he reveals the hidden issues that he and Eden have been facing for the last couple of weeks, ending on Eden blowing up at Jayden for not doing one thing for her. Expert John says that the curtain has finally been pulled back on their relationship, and their emotion shows they genuinely care for each other.
They both choose to stay.
Expert Mel calls Jade and Ridge to the couch. Ridge talks about how good the week was; Jade’s daughter was visiting, and he reveals that the more time he spends with Jade and her daughter, the more he can see them both in his future. They both write stay.
Jack and Tori are next up on the couch and Expert John says that he is interested in how Jack really feels about Tori. Jack reveals that he’s been ‘sleeping really well’ next to Tori. John then asks Jack how Tori makes him feel on the inside, to which he responds saying he “likes her a lot”.
John is not impressed with the lack of emotion. Tori exclaims that she’s annoyed that the same things are brought up every week, and John hits back that it’s because Jack’s actions suggest he’s not attracted to Tori, which Jack says is incorrect. Jack and Tori both agree that if Tori didn’t feel safe, secure, or respected, she would not be in the experiment with him.
They both write stay.
The final couple on the couch is Richard and Andrea. After weeks at breaking point, the couple express how they have not been on the same page for a long time. Richard expresses that he’s had a sense that Andrea hasn’t been into him for a long time.
They amicably decide to leave the experiment.
