Season four of TRYING premieres May 22. See what’s next for Nikki, Jason, and Princess.

Apple TV+ has released a trailer for the highly anticipated fourth season of the beloved comedy series “Trying”, featuring Esther Smith and Rafe Spall. The new season is set to debut with two episodes on Wednesday, 22 May and will continue with weekly releases until 3 July.

This season, we leap six years ahead to find Nikki (played by Smith) and Jason (played by Spall), now seasoned in the world of adoption and heading a harmonious family. Their peace is challenged when their teenage daughter, Princess (Scarlett Rayner), expresses a desire to meet her biological mother, setting the stage for deep family dynamics to unfold.

The cast for season four includes familiar faces such as Sian Brooke and Darren Boyd, alongside newcomers like Scarlett Rayner and Cooper Turner. The series remains under the creative direction of Andy Wolton, who serves as creator, writer, and executive producer. Josh Cole, Sam Pinnell, and Chris Sussman also return as executive producers, with production by BBC Studios.

Highlighting the season’s musical aspect, the trailer introduces a new single, “Forever”, by London artist BEKA. BEKA is set to dominate this season’s soundtrack, continuing the musical legacy of Maisie Peters and Bear’s Den from previous seasons.

All prior seasons of “Trying” are available for streaming globally on Apple TV+.
