Her dependable assistant, Nicholas (Joel Kim Booster), remains a constant in her life, providing both logistical support and comic relief, often seen mixing her health smoothies with a dash of gin for an extra kick. The dynamic between Molly and Nicholas, combined with Molly’s determination to find fulfillment outside of romantic relationships, sets the stage for a season filled with laughter, quirky situations, and heartfelt moments.

Premiering on Friday 5 April, Girls State offers a thought-provoking documentary experience that delves into the lives of 500 teenage girls from Missouri as they embark on a week-long journey into the intricacies of government and democracy.

This sequel to the 2020 film Boys State captures the essence of youthful ambition and political engagement, as these young women take on roles from campaigning to judicial decision-making. The film is punctuated with moments of vulnerability, humor, and the pursuit of genuine connections, offering a refreshing and inspiring look at the future of female leadership and civic engagement.

Sugar, also premiering on Friday 5 April, introduces viewers to a new kind of detective story, with Colin Farrell leading as a private investigator embroiled in the mysterious disappearance of Olivia Siegel. Set against the backdrop of Hollywood’s elite, this series marries the intrigue of detective fiction with the drama of family secrets, both ancient and newly unearthed.

As Sugar digs deeper, the series promises to unravel not just the case at hand, but also the complex web of relationships and histories that define the Siegel family. This narrative is poised to engage audiences with its suspenseful storytelling and deep character studies.

Franklin, starring Michael Douglas as the esteemed Benjamin Franklin, is set to premiere on Friday 12 April. This historical drama shines a spotlight on Franklin’s diplomatic mission to France in 1776, a critical juncture in the American fight for independence.

Finally, The Big Door Prize brings its second season to screens on Wednesday 24 April, continuing the story of Deerfield’s residents and the mysterious Morpho machine. Chris O’Dowd returns as Dusty, alongside Gabrielle Dennis as Cass, with their marriage undergoing a period of reevaluation in the wake of the machine’s predictions.

The ensemble cast, including Djouliet Amara and Sammy Fourlas as Trina and Jacob, explores themes of identity, potential, and the human condition, all while navigating the complexities of their personal lives and relationships. This season promises to delve deeper into the machine’s impact on the community, exploring the philosophical and practical implications of knowing one’s true potential.
