ABC’s Q+A gears up for its latest season premiere tonight, with Patricia Karvelas taking on the role of host and posing a critical inquiry: Who holds your trust?

Amid these discussions, the program scrutinizes whether politicians are equipped to enact meaningful change.

The show also touches on the political climate in the United States, where Donald Trump seeks to leverage public skepticism to unseat Joe Biden from the presidency.

Amidst this backdrop, cultural icons like Taylor Swift, who is set to visit Australia this week, emerge as influential figures in ways that politicians aspire to.

Panel Members Include:

  • Malarndirri McCarthy, Assistant Minister for Indigenous Australians & Indigenous Health, is a respected Yanyuwa Garrawa woman with a distinguished career in both the Northern Territory Assembly and now in the federal sphere, committed to enhancing the lives of Indigenous Australians.
  • Julian Leeser, the Liberal representative for Berowra in Sydney, has served since the 2016 election and has a background as shadow attorney general and shadow minister for Indigenous Australians until April 2023.
  • Geraldine Brooks, a Pulitzer Prize-winning author and journalist, brings a rich history of reporting on global crises for the Wall Street Journal and has received acclaim for her fiction work.
  • Gideon Rachman, the Financial Times‘ Chief Foreign Affairs Columnist, is celebrated for his insightful columns and podcast, in addition to being an award-winning author focusing on global politics.
  • Jelena Dokic, known for her remarkable journey in the world of tennis, has transitioned into a role as a broadcaster and motivational speaker, sharing her experiences on resilience, mental health, and empowerment.

Q+A will be broadcast live from Melbourne, kicking off at 9.35 pm AEDT on Monday, February 19.
