The controversial identity is making headlines again after a confronting video surfaced online.

Fox News and The Daily Telegraph have stood down journalist Paul Kent pending an investigation into recent behaviour caught on camera.

In two videos circulating online, the journalist is seen confronting a younger man outside Totti’s Rozelle in Sydney. After a heated exchange, Kent takes off his watch and keeps approaching the man, seemingly wanting to fight.

The second video seems to skip a short amount of time as Kent is thrown to the ground on the other side of the street by the younger man.

Another man then pushes the younger man away from Kent and appears to hold him down while Kent regains his composure and goes over to the man being held down.

The video then stops.

This is not the first time Kent has been removed from hosting duties from NRL360. As previously reported by TV Blackbox, he had been temporarily removed from his role on the show in the previous year due to charges of assaulting his ex-partner. However, in December, he was acquitted of these charges, thus clearing the path for his return to television and his journalistic endeavors in newspapers.

But as Peter Ford has pointed out, Kent had previously encouraged people to attack Matthew Newton if they saw him in the street. Newton was subsequently attacked and hospitalised.

When approached by TV Blackbox, a spokesperson for Fox News and The Daily Telegraph confirmed Kent has been stood down for the time being, saying:

“Fox Sports presenter and News Corp Australia columnist Paul Kent has been stood down pending an immediate investigation.”
