Join Julia on a heart-rending road trip with her android father in ‘All Those Things We Never Said’, premiering this Wednesday on SBS.

Premiering at 10.25pm on SBS and SBS On Demand, this show introduces viewers to a novel blend of grief, technology, and familial bonds, over its nine-part journey.

The narrative unfolds around Julia, whose wedding plans are abruptly altered by the death of her father, leading her to confront her grief head-on. The story takes an unexpected turn when, the day following her father’s funeral, Julia receives a mysterious crate. Inside, she finds a life-sized android, a carbon copy of her father named Michel.

This android claims to possess her father’s memories and has a limited operational span of seven days before it will shut down permanently.

“Michel” persuades Julia to embark on a road trip, as father and daughter.

Their journey transforms into a quest filled with emotional depths, as they set out to find Julia’s first love, Tomas, a journalist presumed dead while on assignment. The plot thickens in Episode Two, set in Bruges, where Julia starts suspecting that Michel might be hiding something from her.

This series offers a unique exploration of how technology intersects with human emotions and the complexities of relationships. It’s a tale that promises to take the audience on a rollercoaster of feelings, challenging the boundaries between human and machine, while delving into the unspoken and unresolved aspects of familial relationships.

“All Those Things We Never Said” stands out as a poignant reflection on loss, love, and the yearning for closure.

All Those Things We Never Said – New Series Premiere – Wednesday, 17 January at 10.25pm on SBS and SBS On Demand (9 parts)

All episodes of All Those Things We Never Said will be available to stream free on SBS On Demand.
