The Seven Network has reaffirmed its commitment to showcasing Australian athletics, renewing its partnership with Athletics Australia for the 2024 Chemist Warehouse Summer Season.

This collaboration, established in 2021, has seen 7plus, Seven’s digital streaming and on-demand service, become a pivotal platform for broadcasting premier athletics events in Australia, including the only World Athletics Continental Tour Gold level meet in Oceania, the Maurie Plant Meet, and the prestigious Australian Athletics Championships.

The upcoming season promises to be a thrilling spectacle for athletics enthusiasts, as 7plus exclusively live streams the Chemist Warehouse Summer Series. This series encompasses various one-day meets and the much-anticipated national championships. The coverage aims to replicate the vibrant atmosphere of the in-stadium experience, bringing every heart-pounding moment directly to viewers.

A significant drawcard of the season will be the opportunity to witness Australia’s Olympic and Paralympic athletes as they embark on their journey to the Paris Games, competing in qualifiers and vying for Australian titles. The Chemist Warehouse Australian Athletics Championships will serve as a crucial milestone before the commencement of the Games. Additionally, 7plus will spotlight emerging talents in the sport as they compete for junior national titles.

The coverage of the Maurie Plant Meet – Melbourne will be helmed by Australia’s leading track and field commentators, comprising the renowned Bruce McAvaney, alongside Olympians Tamsyn Lewis-Manou and David Culbert. Their expertise will guide viewers through the events, enhancing the experience both on screen and in-stadium.

“Seven’s support since the Tokyo Olympics has been instrumental in propelling Australian athletics to new heights and we’re thrilled to invite Australian audiences to witness our meets live and free on Seven from the comfort of their homes, forging a deeper connection between athletes and fans,”

stated Peter Bromley, CEO of Athletics Australia.

“Thank you to the Seven Network for their continued support of Australian athletics, and we look forward to bringing a season to remember to screens Australia-wide.”
