A solid effort for the new home of Australian television’s night of nights saw a comprehensive win, a new host’s star shine, and the usual list of car-accident moments that make the Logies the glorious mess they are.
Channel 7
The most eyes turned to Seven to see how they would present the first Logies away from Nine in 28 years, and they largely did a phenomenal job (Sam Pang was brilliant as host). The coverage rated slightly down on Nine’s last effort in 2022, and given there were lots of tyre kickers tuning in to see it somewhere else for the first time in nearly two generations this was a little surprising. As the numbers rolled out, the heavily-if-brutally edited Logies Red Carpet (846,000) kicked off the night well, followed by The 63rd Annual LOGIE Awards (877,000) which ran about 30 minutes over scheduled end time (11pm was always aspirational, surely). A repeat of The 1% Club Australia (439,000) afterwards happened and benefitted from the overrun before it.
Seven first in both primary (35.9%) and network (41.7%) rankings.
Channel 9
Nine stoically did their best not having the Logies by pushing forward with 60 Minutes (457,000), and then into the penultimate day of The Ashes: Fifth Test Day 4 S1 (559,000) with a strong return considering the competition.
Nine second in both primary (21.3%) and network (29.4%) rankings.
ABC
Restoration Australia (370,000) and Bay of Fires (292,000) led a solid night for the ABC, though it tailed quickly with The Beast Must Die (93,000). Repeats of The Newsreader (32,000) and Talking Heads (DNR) closed out the late night.
ABC third in both primary (8.5%) and network (11.4%) rankings.
Channel 10
10 stayed the course for a one-sided evening, with The Sunday Project (,000 6:30pm; 233,000 7pm) and Hunted Australia (322,000) continuing their runs to a smaller-than-normal audience. FBI (101,000) and a repeat of NCIS: Hawaii (61,000) followed on with diminishing returns.
10 fourth in both primary (7.1%) and network (11%) rankings.
SBS
A somber night on SBS, starting with a repeat of Great Wall of China: The Making of China (100,000)
and then a repeat in tribute Nothing Compares: Sinead O’Connor (55,000).
SBS fifth in both primary (3.2%) and network (6.4%) rankings.

At this point I kept seeing an image of Darryl’s “shocked” face when he won 30 years ago.
