It quickly became a wasteland across the board after the 7pm offerings were complete.

Channel 7

The finale of Dancing With The Stars (702,000) smashed all comers for Seven and easily won primetime. 7News Spotlight (317,000) struggled somewhat, while Born to Kill? (99,000) and Autopsy USA (51,000) did little worth talking about.

Seven first in both primary (24.7%) and network (32.9%) rankings.

Channel 9

60 Minutes (530,000) opened the night for Nine as its best, and it easily took the battle of the public affairs shows. The Murder of Lyn Dawson (333,000) managed a win in the timeslot afterwards, before the rest of the night focused on the World Aquatics Championships – Finals (209,000). A washout meant The Ashes: Fourth Test Day 5 S1 (125,000 9Gem) failed to pull any sort of significant audience.

Nine second in both primary (18.6%) and network (29.2%) rankings.

ABC

Restoration Australia (437,000) and the excellent Aussie drama Bay of Fires (369,000) led the way for the ABC, drawing a reasonable audience. The Beast Must Die (125,000) attracted a few viewers, followed by repeats of Why Didn’t They Ask Evans? (59,000) and Small Axe (DNR).

ABC third in both primary (11.5%) and network (15.2%) rankings.

Channel 10

The Sunday Project (194,000 6:30pm; 269,000 7pm) returned to struggling to draw an audience for 10, and Hunted Australia (374,000) bolsters the line-up somewhat though offers its lowest figure this season. FBI (154,000) and a repeat of NCIS: Hawaii (96,000) filled out the rest of the night for fans only.

10 fourth in both primary (9.9%) and network (15%) rankings.
