The rest of the schedule fits somewhere in the “functioning-to-floundering” scale.

Channel 9

Given how strong the interest has been in the cricket it was always going to end up like this for Nine.
A Current Affair (627,000) again strong as The Ashes: Fourth Test Day 1 S1 (836,000), which drew the biggest audience in primetime (and continued to do so into the lunch (466,000) and second (337,000) sessions).

Nine second in both primary (30.7%) and network (38.6%) rankings.

Channel 7

Home & Away (440,000) kicked off the night as Seven’s strongest before Animals Abroad with Dr Harry (254,000) again underperforms, ending up in fourth in the slot. Ambulance: Code Red (167,000) drew a similarly small audience before The Front Bar (229,000 (MEL 121,000)) does great business in the southern capital and little elsewhere. A repeat of Death Row: Countdown to Execution (55,000) fills out the late night.

Seven first in both primary (15.6%) and network (23.3%) rankings.

ABC

Another strong Wednesday for the ABC, starting with the 7:30 (423,000)/Utopia (455,000) double, taking a strong second position behind the cricket. This continued through the Gruen (427,000)/Gold Diggers (172,000) pair as well. Queen of Oz (103,000) and Adam Hills: The Last Leg (68,000) then swung into a repeat of The School That Tried To End Racism (DNR) to round out the night.

ABC third in both primary (10.6%) and network (14.9%) rankings.

Channel 10

The Project (159,000 6:30pm; 240,000 7pm) remained in its weekly incremental dive into ratings purgatory, however Hunted Australia (432,000) continued its push however a slightly smaller audience means it ended up in third in primetime. The finale of Riptide (158,000) did limited business; similarly So Help Me Todd (59,000) and a repeat of NCIS: Los Angeles (33,000).

10 fourth in both primary (8.8%) and network (14.7%) rankings.

SBS fifth in both primary (5%) and network (8.6%) rankings.
