Just who should replace Andrew O’Keefe as the new host of THE CHASE AUSTRALIA?

1. Jason Richardson for me. Natural for television. Does a great job with 7sport.

   • Mark Humphries. Amazed us when they axed Pointless. Please not Grant Denyer – too sickly. Not sad to see Andrew go – too much posturing.

2. Larry Emdur is certainly a CONSUMMATE professional. Not sure if he’s a consular one.
   But I doubt I’ll still be a dedicated watcher without Andrew O’Keefe.

         He always come across as a try hard. I will not miss his over pronounciation of words, constantly flailing hands and lastly the constant poor attempts at accents often making the word impossible to understand.
         I prefer the English version also. I reckon between you, me and The Governess we’ll all be quite happy with his departure!

You need someone with a sense of the ridiculous to host this show. I was never really an Andrew fan. Fortunately, the format was good enough that he never completely ruined the show for me.

129. The Chase WAS the best quiz show on television. In my opinion – Andrew O’Keefe is & was the only option for compere of the show. You might as well pack up shop on this one channel 7 – as ANY replacement for Andrew will come up way short!
     This was my favourite programme (along with Gardening Australia) on television.I cannot even begin to imagine who could fill the shoes of such an educated, quick-witted & pleasing personality.
     Channel 7 & 2 are the only two stations that I normally watch – both of which are sadly underperforming. Someone at 7 is making some very bad changes & ruining great productions such as Better Homes & Gardens.
     Guess I’ll just have to get used to watching more Netflix, Prime & Youtube!

     • There is no-one. As an earlier critic noted, Andrew may possess a certain ego and self-importance. Definitely, it would be difficult to perform smoothly, ad libbing, imbuing The Chase with energy, charm and wit if one had no ego or self importance. Andrew is so much more than solely a comedian. He has flair and glamour. Andrew is a party-starter.

     • Channel 7, are you listening ? Though it may be a little off-topic for this thread, contributors cannot resist stating that Andrew is by far the best choice, Andrew is irreplaceable. As is the fashion, people – mainly men – are cancelled before their case even gets to court, and punished long after they’ve done their time, fines, probation, amends, etc. There is nothing stopping Channel 7 renewing Andrew’s contract. Such charm and talent does not come free…..he needs support. Channel 7 has been supportive, but must continue to be so. Channel 7, you’ll be sorry when your shows hit the downward spiral before their time, and another network snaps him up. Kerry and Ryan, are you listening ? Please, please, please & thank you.

264. Having been a contestant, and a winner! on BOTH Pointless AND The Chase Australia, I feel maybe I am in a unique position to vote for Mark Humphries as the replacement for Andrew. Andrew was great, clever, articulate and with an easy manner that kept the show rolling along whilst keeping the contestants entertained and more importantly as relaxed as they could possibly be in an alien environment. Mark has all of these qualities and more. He is a true professional. Mark has an enormous intellect, he’s funny, he has a special way of entertaining and calming everyone at the same time. Mark is a brilliant host, we were devastated when Pointless was cancelled, such a waste of talent. Mark deserves this gig, he will make The Chase bigger and better. Look no further than Mark Humphries he will make an incredible host and I for one will watch EVERY episode. Good luck Andrew and thanks for a great show, we enjoyed every minute. 295. Mark Humphrey’s as he got a raw deal with 7 cancelling Pointless. He was great at it. I liked Andrew though and sorry to see him go. Channel 7 should put more effort into the health of their people.

A network which withdraws support for a star in crisis after a seventeen year association is not worth watching. Andrew also has not even been heard in court yet.
