HOW DID TEN PITCH IT?

Comedian Troy Kinne ditches the stress of modern life, bringing hard-working Australians a fast-paced half-hour of laughter.

WHAT IS IT REALLY?

If you’ve seen Troy’s self-titled show on 7mate or perused his YouTube channel you know exactly what you’re gonna get.

WHO IS IN IT AND WHO RESPONSIBLE FOR IT?

Cast includes: Troy Kinne, Max Price, Roz Hammond, Emma-Louise Wilson, Natalie Tran, Nicolette Minster, CJ Fortuna & Nikki Osborne. Special guests include: Dave Thornton & Rob Mills.

The show is produced by Big Yellow Taxi Productions.

WAS IT ANY GOOD?

Sharp, well-written and delivered sketches from a team who have been working together for some time now. It really helped that this cohort have been working together for some time – the unspoken comfort and chemistry leaps out of the screen.

The “tonight show” vibe was OK though largely unnecessary – a lot like MSG – as it was the sketches that as the main meal were the tastiest and most plentiful. Some of the setups didn’t land completely however that didn’t slow the pace overall.

In fact on the whole it was the sketches that weren’t confined to the studio that were the best.

(Always great to hear Oliver Clark’s joyous baritone as the voice over guy.)

SHOULD IT GO TO SERIES?

Of the two sketch shows premiering this week Kinne’s got the runs on the board and the jokes in the tank. If Ten have the cash this series is an easy win. A big yes from me.
