Australian distribution veterans Roger Vanderspikken and Jimmy Elkington have launched Season Three Media, a new independent company focused on taking premium factual and lifestyle content to international markets.
The Melbourne-based distributor launches with an initial catalogue of 170 hours of programming and marks the next step for Vanderspikken and Elkington, who previously worked together at Fred Media across global content sales and distribution.
The pair will lead the new business as Managing Directors, Global Content, with a focus on supporting producers through international sales, development and funding strategies.
The new company launches with a catalogue spanning 26 seasons of programming, including titles such as Budget Battlers with Jess Eva, Precious Metal: A Love Story, Curating Taste, The Yes Experiment, Extreme Minds and feature documentary LifeBoat.
Joining Season Three Media as its first hire is Josh Chiodo, who takes on the role of Content Operations Manager. Chiodo previously worked at Fred Media and brings experience across content delivery, editing, graphic design, technical operations and digital content.
Vanderspikken said the team’s experience across the full content lifecycle has helped shape the company’s approach to working with producers.
“We understand the entire ecosystem from development and funding through to production, sales, operations and reinvigorating content years later for new markets.”
Season Three Media says its boutique model will focus on working closely with producers beyond traditional distribution, including support around content development, funding strategies, pitching and brand integration.
Season Three Media is already working with producers across Australia and New Zealand as it builds its international catalogue.
