The ABC has appointed former Seven West Media COO Dr Trent Dickeson as its new Chief Operating Officer, just months after he departed the commercial network.
Dickeson will join Managing Director Hugh Marks’ leadership team next month, bringing more than a decade of senior executive experience at Seven to the public broadcaster, with a focus on operations, technology and business transformation.
He began his career at Deloitte, advising organisations on strategy and operating model transformation, before joining Seven, where he spent 13 years in a series of senior roles and most recently served as COO.
Dickeson departed Seven in March as part of the leadership changes following the merger between Seven West Media and Southern Cross Media Group, with Southern Cross executive Stephen Haddad subsequently appointed COO of the merged business.
Marks said Dickeson’s experience across several key areas of the business would be important as the ABC continues its work to strengthen the organisation.
“The breadth of experience he has across finance, operations, technology and organisational transformation, will be vitally important to the work we are doing to strengthen the ABC for the benefit of all Australians,” Marks said.
Dickeson said he was looking forward to joining the ABC and working with colleagues across the organisation.
