BINGE unveils first look at eerie new Canadian thriller YAGA

BINGE has unveiled a first look at YAGA, the dark Canadian thriller bringing a contemporary twist to the centuries-old myth of Baba Yaga for Australian audiences.

The eight-part Crave series stars Carrie-Anne Moss, Noah Reid and Heated Rivalry favourite Hudson Williams, as a missing heir draws a private investigator into a coastal town filled with secrets, strange characters and ancient magic.

BINGE has released the official trailer for new eight-part series YAGA starring Carrie-Anne Moss (The Matrix), Noah Reid (Schitt’s Creek), Clark Backo (Letterkenny) and Hudson Williams (Heated Rivalry).

The spellbinding mystery thriller re-imagines the myth of Baba Yaga and will premiere with a double episode on Friday October 23^rd, followed by weekly episodes and a double episode finale on BINGE, DAZN’s entertainment streaming platform, and Foxtel On Demand.

YAGA is based on the hit play by Kat Sandler who also serves as writer, showrunner, and executive producer. It follows Rapp (Noah Reid), a private investigator who arrives in the small coastal town of Whittock, to investigate the disappearance of a young heir to a powerful fishery, Henry Park (Hudson Williams).

He finds himself at odds with an apprehensive local detective, Carson (Clark Backo), a charismatic university professor with a taste for younger men, Katherine (Carrie-Anne Moss), and a labyrinth of enigmatic suspects, secret lives, and ancient magic.

Additional cast includes Sheila McCarthy, Megan Follows, Ezra Franky, Patrick Gilmore, Katharine Isabelle, and Hiro Kanagawa, along with Emilija Baranac, Georgia Acken, Anisa Harris, and Sam Krochmal.

David Frazee and Rachel Talalay serve as co-directors. Mackenzie Donaldson, Andrew Miller, and Carrie-Anne Moss are executive producers, and Charles Cooper is producer.

YAGA is produced by Blink49 Studios and Front Street Pictures, in association with Bell Media, with the participation of the Canada Media Fund (CMF), the Rogers Series Fund, and the Bell Fund.

The series is distributed internationally by Sphere Abacus, a Bell Media company. It has been acquired by Foxtel Group, a DAZN company, in Australia, AMC Global Media for AMC+ in the U.S., Sky in the UK and Ireland, Sky in New Zealand, and HBO Max in Europe (excluding UK and Ireland).

YAGA premieres Friday, October 23 on BINGE and Foxtel On Demand, with the first two episodes dropping from 6pm AEDT, followed by weekly episodes and a double-episode finale on November 27.
