The annual Footy Show Grand Final: My Room Telethon has raised $6,148,496 for My Room Children’s Cancer Charity, with funds supporting children and families affected by childhood cancer.
Hosted by Eddie McGuire, Thursday night’s telethon brought together 9News Melbourne anchor Alicia Loxley, reporter Nat Yoannidis and AFL Sunday Footy Show regulars Nathan Brown and Matthew Lloyd for an evening of football, entertainment and fundraising.
A number of AFL stars also joined the broadcast, including 2026 Brownlow medallist Nick Daicos, Brisbane Lions captain Harris Andrews, Western Bulldogs captain Marcus Bontempelli and Melbourne Demons captain Max Gawn.
Players including Andrew McGrath, Massimo D’Ambrosio, Will Day, Lloyd Meek, Brody Mihocek, Jacob Hopper and Riley Thilthorpe also supported the event from the Probe Phone Room, alongside Melbourne Storm’s Xavier Coates and comedy group Sooshi Mango.
The latest result takes the My Room Telethon’s fundraising total to more than $31 million over the past 11 years, with this year’s funds supporting financial assistance for families, specialised clinical care, research and clinical trials.
My Room Chairman Maurizio Marcocci and CEO Margaret Zita OAM thanked the community for its support, saying the funds raised would help provide immediate assistance to families while supporting clinical care, research and trials.
“These funds represent far more than a financial target—they are a lifeline for families navigating the hardest journey of their lives.”
Nine Melbourne Managing Director Andrea Salmon also thanked viewers and the team behind the broadcast, saying the response demonstrated what the community can achieve together.
“The overwhelming generosity shown during this year’s Telethon is a powerful reminder of what our community can achieve together.”
