Netflix has unveiled the first trailer for East of Eden, a new limited series based on John Steinbeck’s classic novel.

The seven-part series will explore the multigenerational saga of the Trask family, with Florence Pugh taking on the role of the story’s complex antihero, Cathy Ames.

Set to arrive on Netflix on October 1, East of Eden is a new interpretation of Steinbeck’s 1952 novel, which explores family, morality and the choices that shape generations.
