Kayo Sports and Foxtel have secured the Australian broadcast rights to the MotoGP Championship under a new multi-year agreement beginning in 2027, extending a partnership that will reach three decades when the new deal takes effect.

The agreement with the MotoGP Sports Entertainment Group will keep every MotoGP practice session, qualifying session and race with Kayo Sports and Foxtel in Australia.

Coverage will continue to be shown live and ad-break free during racing, with the deal extending the broadcaster’s long-running relationship with the motorcycle racing championship.

The renewal comes as Foxtel Group prepares to make a major change to its sports branding in 2027, bringing Fox Sports and Kayo Sports together under the Kayo Sports name.

Under that transition, Fox Footy, Fox Cricket and Fox League will become Kayo Footy, Kayo Cricket and Kayo League, while the other Fox Sports channels will become Kayo Sports.

The existing Fox Sports talent, journalism and production teams will remain as part of the change.

For MotoGP, the new rights agreement coincides with changes to the competition from 2027, including new technical regulations and a new home for the Australian Grand Prix in Adelaide.

Foxtel Group CEO Patrick Delany said the broadcaster’s relationship with the championship would reach a significant milestone under the renewed agreement.

“With world-class racing and a championship battle going down to the wire, MotoGP has never been more thrilling.

And there’s plenty more to come, with 2027 marking a significant new chapter for the sport, including major regulation changes, four of the five current champions changing manufacturers, and a new home for the Australian Grand Prix in Adelaide.

“2027 marks 30 years as broadcast partner for the MotoGP, representing three decades of supporting and growing alongside the sport.

With this renewed deal, Kayo SPORTS subscribers will have a front row seat to all the upcoming action as we continue to bring Australian viewers every race, every battle and every moment live for years to come, alongside our hugely successful MotorRacing 360 show.”

The agreement is described by MotoGP Sports Entertainment Group as an extension of the longest broadcast partnership in the championship’s history.

Carlos Ezpeleta, Deputy CEO, MotoGP Sports Entertainment Group, said the Australian market remained important to the competition.

“Australia has always been one of MotoGP’s most passionate markets, and we are delighted to extend our partnership with DAZN’s Kayo SPORTS and FOXTEL, ensuring fans continue to have access to every session, every race and every unforgettable moment of the championship.

“This new agreement further extends what is the longest broadcast partnership in MotoGP’s history, underlining both the strength of our relationship and the enduring passion of Australian fans for the sport.”

Ezpeleta also pointed to the changes coming to the championship from 2027.

“As MotoGP prepares to enter an exciting new era from 2027, with new technical regulations, evolving competition and a new home for the Australian Grand Prix in Adelaide, it is more important than ever to work with partners who share our commitment to delivering the highest quality coverage and fan experience.

We look forward to continuing to grow MotoGP’s audience in Australia together, bringing fans even closer to the riders, teams and stories that make this sport so unique.”

The MotoGP extension follows renewed agreements between Kayo Sports, Foxtel, Formula 1 and Supercars, maintaining a substantial motorsport offering across the platforms.

Foxtel Group Executive Director – Commercial, Sport Adam Howarth said motorsport remained an important part of the company’s sports coverage.

“Motorsport is firmly part of Australia’s tier-one sporting landscape, alongside the AFL, NRL and cricket, and Kayo SPORTS is the place fans can watch it all.

From Formula 1 and MotoGP to Supercars and Australia’s biggest sporting competitions, Kayo SPORTS brings the very best of more than 50 live sports together in one place.

DAZN holds MotoGP rights in Spain and Portugal, and this extension reflects not only our strong support for MotoGP, but also DAZN’s role as a global partner in growth for this awesome sport.”

The current 2026 MotoGP Championship continues with the Grand Prix of San Marino and the Rimini Riviera on Friday September 11, before the Australian event at Phillip Island begins on Friday October 23.

Every MotoGP Championship practice session, qualifying session and race will remain live and ad-break free during racing on Kayo Sports and Foxtel under the new multi-year agreement commencing in 2027.
