ESPN Australia is taking viewers behind the scenes with the Los Angeles Rams ahead of their historic NFL Melbourne appearance, with new docuseries It All Starts In Melbourne premiering Sunday.
The three-part series follows the Rams through their preparations for the 2026 NFL season, including their training camp, the arrival of star defensive end Myles Garrett and the planning behind their trip to Australia.
Fans will also hear from Rams head coach Sean McVay, along with Garrett, Puka Nacua, Kyren Williams, Trent McDuffie, Kobie Turner, Jalen Watson and others.
All three episodes will be available on Disney+ from Sunday, September 6, while the series will also air on ESPN at 9.30pm AEST, immediately following Australia vs Turkiye in the FIBA Women’s Basketball World Cup.
Inside the Rams
The first episode, Meet the Team, looks at McVay’s appointment as head coach, the Rams’ 2021 Super Bowl victory and the strength of their offence as the team establishes its 2026 training camp.
Episode two, Super Bowl Contenders, turns to the arrival of Garrett during the off-season, the continued development of Kobie Turner and the Rams’ ambitions to build a team capable of challenging for another Super Bowl.
It also explores the planning required for the team’s trip to Australia.
The final episode, Melbourne Game, focuses on the significance of the Rams’ game against the San Francisco 49ers, their existing rivalry and the stakes involved in a divisional showdown.
The Rams and 49ers will make history when they meet at the Melbourne Cricket Ground on Friday, September 11, in the first regular-season NFL game to be played in Australia.
The game will also have implications for the NFC West, with the division featuring the Rams, 49ers and reigning Super Bowl champions the Seattle Seahawks.

It All Starts In Melbourne is part of ESPN Australia’s broader coverage of the NFL this season.
The Los Angeles Rams vs San Francisco 49ers game will be shown live on ESPN and Disney+ from 8.30am AEST on Friday, September 11, with extensive pre-game coverage ahead of the 10.35am AEST kick-off.
ESPN will also provide a minimum of six live NFL games each week throughout the 2026/27 season, alongside NFL RedZone, the NFL Playoffs and Super Bowl LXI.
NFL RedZone will remain available exclusively on Disney+, delivering more than seven hours of coverage every NFL Monday.
Super Bowl LXI, to be held in Los Angeles in February 2027, will also mark the first time The Walt Disney Company and ESPN produce the Super Bowl for the global NFL audience.
ESPN and ESPN2 are available on Disney+, Foxtel, Kayo Sports, Fetch TV and Sky NZ.
