Jeff Goldblum will host the season two premiere of Saturday Night Live UK, with Irish singer-songwriter CMAT joining him as musical guest.
The Academy Award-nominated actor, best known for Wicked, Jurassic Park and The World According to Jeff Goldblum, will lead the first episode of the new season when the British sketch comedy series returns to screens.
CMAT, the stage name of Ciara Mary-Alice Thompson, joins Goldblum for the season opener, with the Brit Award-nominated singer-songwriter performing as the episode’s musical guest.
The new season will once again feature a different celebrity host and musical guest each week, alongside topical sketches, live music and a British take on the iconic Weekend Update segment.
Season two has been expanded to 12 episodes, up from eight in the inaugural season. The first six episodes will air across September and October, with additional episodes planned for early 2027.
All 11 members of the original cast will also return for the new season, including Hammed Animashaun, Ayoade Bamgboye, Larry Dean, Celeste Dring, George Fouracres, Ania Magliano, Annabel Marlow, Al Nash, Jack Shep, Emma Sidi and Paddy Young.
The first season featured a string of high-profile hosts including Tina Fey, Jamie Dornan, Riz Ahmed, Jack Whitehall, Nicola Coughlan, Aimee Lou Wood, Hannah Waddingham and Ncuti Gatwa.
Goldblum will become the latest international name to take the hosting reins, following the first season’s mix of British and international stars as SNL UK continues its live-from-London format.
The series is produced by Universal Television Alternative Studio’s UK production team and Broadway Video for Sky and NOW, with Saturday Night Live creator Lorne Michaels serving as executive producer and James Longman as lead producer.
