Jessica Mauboy is stepping into the hosting role as That Blackfella Show returns to ABC, with the First Nations variety special back for another NAIDOC Week celebration following its debut last year.
The special returns after launching in 2025, when it was hosted by Ernie Dingo and Bridget Brennan, with Isaac Compton serving as studio sidekick. This year, Mauboy takes over hosting duties for what ABC describes as Australia’s first First Nations variety program.
Joining Mauboy on the night will be Baker Boy, Dyagula and Drifting Clouds, while Ian Zaro, known from The Traitors and Nude Tuesday, appears as the newest custodian of the show’s tearoom.
The 2026 edition will also feature a collection of new comedy sketches, including the return of fan favourite Aunt Kerrie and an acting debut from rapper BARKAA.
Combining live music, comedy and Indigenous storytelling, the program showcases established performers alongside emerging First Nations talent as part of ABC’s NAIDOC Week celebrations.
Viewers can also access a range of Indigenous stories and features on ABC iview throughout NAIDOC Week.
That Blackfella Show is an Australian Broadcasting Corporation production. Rowdie Walden serves as Executive Producer, with Kelrick Martin as ABC Head of Indigenous.
