A blindfold trick, plenty of nerves and more than a few blushes helped kick off a brand new season of Farmer Wants A Wife on Monday night, with three farmers already narrowing the search for their perfect match.

Host Natalie Gruzlewski returned to play cupid as five new farmers gathered in the Hunter Valley, hoping to find lasting love after attracting thousands of applications from single women across the country.

Farmers Alex, Dylan and Jason began their journeys with a round of speed dating, meeting a selection of women before deciding which five would join them back on the farm.

Farmer Dylan was immediately taken with chocolate shop assistant Ally, whose playful blindfold challenge broke the ice during their first meeting.

“She’s gorgeous. She’s got real pretty eyes. I’m blushing.”

Farmer Alex appeared equally smitten after meeting event manager Suzannah, saying she was his type from the moment they met, while Farmer Jason found an early connection with veterinarian Beth.

After a series of speed dates, awkward laughs and plenty of stolen glances, each farmer selected five women to continue the experience on their respective properties.

The search for love continues as Farmers Zac and Jarrad begin meeting potential partners, before all five farmers return home for their first 24-hour dates.

Farmer Wants A Wife continues Tuesday at 7:30pm on Seven, catch up on the first episode now on 7plus.
