In an Australian exclusive, TV Blackbox can reveal a new clip from this week’s season two finale of Apple TV’s crime thriller Criminal Record.

The scene offers a tense glimpse at the danger facing London as detectives Daniel Hegarty and June Lenker’s investigation closes in on Cosmo’s growing bomb plot, with the eight-episode season reaching its conclusion on Wednesday.

The second season follows an anonymous phone call that draws June Lenker back into a complex murder investigation, placing her on a collision course with veteran detective Daniel Hegarty.

As the case deepens, long buried secrets, political tensions and questions of institutional accountability threaten to unravel lives on both sides of the inquiry.

In the finale, titled Triple the Size, the bomb squad approaches a van and makes a chilling discovery connected to Cosmo’s explosives, raising the stakes as the investigation races towards its conclusion.

Created by BAFTA nominee Paul Rutman, Criminal Record stars Peter Capaldi, Cush Jumbo, Stephen Campbell Moore, Zoë Wanamaker, Charlie Creed-Miles, Cathy Tyson and Dustin Demri-Burns.

Apple TV is yet to confirm whether Criminal Record will return for a third season, but if the season two finale is anything to go by, fans may not have seen the last of Daniel Hegarty and June Lenker.

Watch the exclusive clip below.

Criminal Record season two concludes Wednesday, June 10 on Apple TV.
