It’s the morning of the final Commitment Ceremony and after more than 8 weeks in the experiment, last night the remaining six couples made the important decision to stay in the experiment and continue to final vows or leave their marriages for good – for the last time.

Following last night’s Dinner Party, a loved-up Sara and Tim are excited to show off how far they’ve come in this experiment.

For Eden and Jayden, the argument they had last night has boiled over to this morning, and the pair are currently in gridlock. Eden wants to avoid conflict, while Jayden wants to be able to discuss his feelings openly. The pair aren’t sure how to move forward.

For Lauren and Jono homestays reignited the flame between them. And while they’re currently feeling closer than ever, this morning Tori has found out some shocking information that threatens to blow up Lauren and Jonathan’s relationship.

The first couple on the couch is Eden and Jayden. The pair have been struggling to deal with conflict, and their fight at last night’s dinner party highlighted their issues with communication. Eden feels she needs to ‘bow down’ to Jayden and like she doesn’t have a voice in this relationship. Jayden doesn’t agree, but Expert John calls him out for his toxic fight style.

John helps Jayden understand that he needs to spend more time listening to Eden and less time trying to be right. Jayden has a breakthrough, revealing he doesn’t feel good enough for Eden. Eden thinks Jayden is more than enough for her, and they both decide to stay.

Next on the couch is Jade and Ridge. They had a fantastic homestay with Jade’s family, but Jade is moved to tears when she shares her insecurities about having a long-distance relationship as she’s worried Ridge might move on and find someone else.

Ridge reassures Jade that he only has eyes for her. He’s committed to making long distance work, and if it does, he intends to move to the Gold Coast to live with her. They both admit they’re falling in love with each other. The couple choose to stay.

For Timothy and Lucinda, the couch is an opportunity for Lucinda to unpack some of the things that disappointed her about their homestay. She felt unwelcome at Timothy’s house and like he didn’t really want her around. Timothy admits he didn’t have the best attitude going into homestays and didn’t really make an effort.

Lucinda has given everything to this experiment, but she feels like Timothy hasn’t reciprocated her efforts. She reads a heartfelt but honest poem before revealing she has chosen to leave. Timothy has also decided to leave, but it’s on good terms and they both hope to continue their friendship.

Next on the couch is a loved-up Sara and Tim. The couple have transformed their relationship over the past few weeks, after it was revealed that Sara was meeting up with her ex-boyfriend behind Tim’s back. Since then, Sara has been trying to make it up to Tim, and it’s working: Tim is feeling valued, and they’re both smitten.

They both choose to stay.

Tori and Jack have some big news to discuss this week: they’ve had sex. They both feel like it has brought them closer, and that they are falling for each other. At last night’s Dinner Party, the group once again questioned the authenticity of their relationship, and Tori becomes emotional, breaking down as she admits that it feels like she has no friends or support from the group.

Lauren interjects that she has Tori’s back, but she still holds concerns for the relationship, and questions Tori’s attitude towards some of Jack’s poor behaviours. Despite what the group think though, the couple feel as though they are in the strongest place they’ve ever been. Both decide to stay.

The final couple on the couch is Lauren and Jonathan. They both feel their homestay in Perth was a turning point for their relationship; their feelings for each other are the strongest they’ve ever been, and intimacy is back in their relationship.

Tori listens with a look of disgust and disbelief.

While Jonathan continues to celebrate the success of their homestay, Tori interrupts, dropping a bombshell: Jonathan has been texting former bride Ellie. Lauren is shocked and Jonathan attempts to explain that it’s nothing – just a friend keeping Ellie updated.

When questioned by Expert Alessandra, Jonathan denies that there is anything romantic between himself and Ellie. Meanwhile Lauren admits she has been traumatised by betrayals in her past relationships and this is how they started too. She breaks down on the couch and Jonathan apologises.

They both stay, but Lauren is hurt, angry and keen to find out more about the situation.

Married At First Sight continues tonight on Channel 9 and 9Now
