*** NOTE: NEW METRICS AND REPORTS ***

  • Total TV National audience is calculated using the audience average for the program as time-coded by the Network across 5CM and all regional markets nationally watching on broadcast TV and BVOD.
  • BVOD national audience is calculated using the total number of minutes watched (including co-viewing) divided by the length of the program.

PRIMETIME ANALYSIS

Commercial primetime is a predictable beast at this end of the year, largely due to MAFS:
Married At First Sight (1,619,000 avg) (lw 1.506m) on Nine
Australian Idol (788,000 avg) (lw 854k) on Seven
Australian Survivor (598,000 avg) (lw 577k) on Channel 10.

The 7pm tussle for the commercial networks also continues to go only one way:
A Current Affair (1,166,000 avg) on Nine
Home and Away (790,000 avg) on Seven
The Project (339,000 avg) (6:30pm-7:30pm) on 10.

The later primetime slot continues to be held on the commercials by Big Miracles (514,000 avg) (lw 519k) on Nine, followed not-so-closely by The Irrational (353,000 avg) (lw 399k) on Seven. A repeat of FBI: Most Wanted (183,000 avg) (lw 162k) on 10 lifts slightly though again isn’t in the hunt.

The ABC’s Monday opens slightly down week-on-week for 7:30 (689,000 avg) (lw 710k), though picks up significantly through Australian Story (693,000 avg) (lw 549k) and 4 Corners (801,000 avg) (lw 509k). Consequently Media Watch (779,000 avg) (lw 607k) lifts a little, and the bubble extends to Q+A (347,000 avg) (lw 311k) also.
