Obituary marks a thrilling addition, exclusively premiering on BritBox. This crime drama, infused with elements of dark comedy, introduces us to a small-town obituarist, Elvira Clancy, portrayed by Siobhán Cullen. Elvira, aged 24, finds herself in a precarious situation when her job starts to hang by a thread due to financial constraints at her newspaper.
The situation takes a dark turn when she inadvertently causes the death of a town miscreant, unveiling her latent penchant for murder. As she employs more ingenious methods to dispatch the town’s undesirables, making their deaths appear accidental, her life complicates further with the arrival of a new crime correspondent, played by Michael Smiley, whose investigative tendencies and appealing personality catch her off guard.
