BritBox is set to captivate audiences this March with an enthralling selection of programs, ranging from gripping crime dramas to heartwarming comedies.

Noteworthy amongst its lineup are Obituary, Why Didn’t They Ask Evans?, and Hullraisers, along with the continuation of the beloved series, Hope Street.

Obituary marks a thrilling addition, exclusively premiering on BritBox. This crime drama, infused with elements of dark comedy, introduces us to a small-town obituarist, Elvira Clancy, portrayed by Siobhán Cullen. Elvira, aged 24, finds herself in a precarious situation when her job starts to hang by a thread due to financial constraints at her newspaper.

The situation takes a dark turn when she inadvertently causes the death of a town miscreant, unveiling her latent penchant for murder. As she employs more ingenious methods to dispatch the town’s undesirables, making their deaths appear accidental, her life complicates further with the arrival of a new crime correspondent, played by Michael Smiley, whose investigative tendencies and appealing personality catch her off guard. Ronan Raftery also stars in this captivating series that promises a blend of suspense and humor.

Obituary is set to stream from 28th March 2024.

For fans of classic mysteries, Why Didn’t They Ask Evans? brings Agatha Christie’s wit to the screen. The series follows Bobby Jones and Lady Frances, played by Will Poulter and Lucy Boynton, respectively, as they delve into a perplexing case initiated by the cryptic last words of a dying man found by Bobby.

Alongside them is Daniel Ings, contributing to the unraveling of this intriguing mystery.

This series will be available for streaming from 14th March 2024.

Comedy enthusiasts can look forward to the return of Hullraisers for its second season, exclusively on BritBox. This series provides a candid look into the lives of three women from Hull, Yorkshire, capturing the essence of their friendships, family dynamics, and personal challenges.

The cast features Leah Brotherhead, Sinead Matthews, and Taj Atwal, whose performances bring depth and humor to their roles as Toni, Paula, and Rana. The series premieres on 21st March 2024.
