PALM ROYALE is set to premiere globally on Apple TV+ with the first three episodes on Wednesday, 20 March, and will continue to release new episodes every Wednesday until 8 May.
At its heart, PALM ROYALE narrates the journey of Maxine Simmons (Wiig), who aspires to infiltrate the elite circles of Palm Beach. The series explores the lengths one might go to achieve what others have, encapsulating the struggle of an outsider aiming for acceptance. Set in the tumultuous year of 1969, it resonates with the timeless quest for belonging.
Derived from Juliet McDaniel’s novel “Mr. and Mrs. American Pie”, the series is a collaborative effort produced by Apple Studios. The creative team includes Abe Sylvia, who is credited as writer, executive producer, and showrunner through Aunt Sylvia’s Moving Picture Company. Laura Dern and Jayme Lemons for Jaywalker Pictures, Kristen Wiig, Katie O’Connell Marsh, Tate Taylor, and John Norris for Wyolah Films, along with Sharr White, Sheri Holman, and Boat Rocker, also contribute as executive producers. Directional credits are shared by Taylor, Sylvia, Claire Scanlon, and Stephanie Laing.
