MANHUNT, the new series exploring Lincoln’s assassination aftermath, debuts on Apple TV+ with Tobias Menzies.
Apple TV+ has launched the first glimpse into its new true crime series, “Manhunt,” featuring Tobias Menzies, celebrated for his Emmy-winning role, at its core.
This series, extending over seven episodes, is the brainchild of Monica Beletsky, known for her Emmy-nominated work. Beletsky not only created the series but also steers it as the showrunner and executive producer. Scheduled for a grand opening, “Manhunt” will premiere with its initial two episodes on 15 March on Apple TV+, with successive episodes airing on Fridays.
The climax of this thrilling series is set for 19 April.
Drawing inspiration from James L. Swanson‘s acclaimed work, “Manhunt: The 12-Day Chase for Lincoln’s Killer,” this series delves into the widely recognized yet often misunderstood narrative of John Wilkes Booth‘s pursuit following Abraham Lincoln‘s assassination.
The cast includes notable names such as Anthony Boyle, Lovie Simone, Will Harrison, Brandon Flynn, Damian O’Hare, Glenn Morshower, Patton Oswalt, Matt Walsh, and Hamish Linklater, enriching the series with their diverse talents.
Behind the production of “Manhunt” are Apple Studios and Lionsgate Television, in collaboration with several production entities including POV Entertainment, Walden Media, 3 Arts Entertainment, Dovetale Productions, and Monarch Pictures. Alongside Beletsky, the executive production team boasts of Carl Franklin, Layne Eskridge, and Kate Barry, with Swanson also contributing as an executive producer. Franklin, recognized for his direction in notable projects, helmed the first two episodes, setting the tone for this captivating series.
