Who will win at the AACTA Audience Choice Awards? See the list of 2024 nominees and get ready to cheer for your favourites.

The Australian Academy of Cinema and Television Arts (AACTA) has unveiled the finalists for this year’s Audience Choice Awards, marking a record-breaking year with over 300,000 votes received.

The awards celebrate the public’s favorites across seven categories, including Favourite Film, TV Show, Actress, Actor, Australian Media Personality, Australian Sporting Moment, and Australian Digital Creator.

Margot Robbie, Chris Hemsworth, and Jacob Elordi are among the top contenders for Favourite Actress and Actor, demonstrating the global appeal of Australian talent. Chloe Hayden is in the running for Favourite Media Personality, following her 2022 win for Best Actress. She is joined by notable personalities such as Jimmy Rees, Sophie Monk, Em Rusciano, the Shameless Podcast, and Abbie Chatfield, the latter having won Best TV Personality last year.

The awards have introduced a new category this year, Favourite Australian Sporting Moment, highlighting unforgettable events from Australia’s sports scene, including the 2023 AFL and NRL Grand Finals, the Matilda’s World Cup journey, the Australian Diamonds’ World Cup victory, Carlton’s AFL finals appearance, and Daniel Ricciardo’s Formula 1 comeback.

In the Australian Digital Creator category, previous nominees Kat Clark, Luke & Sassy Scott, and Anna Paul return, joined by newcomers such as Sofia Ligeros, Maddy MacRae, Bridey Drake, Georgia Productions, and Indy Clinton.

The winners of the AACTA Audience Choice Awards will be revealed during the 2024 AACTA Awards Ceremony, hosted by the Foxtel Group on Saturday 10 February at HOTA on the Gold Coast. The event will be broadcast on Channel Ten and available on BINGE and Foxtel On-Demand, with a special director’s cut featuring all awards.

The 2022 ceremony saw Heartbreak High secure Best TV Series, Bryn Chapman Parish win Best Actor, Chloe Hayden for Best Actress, and Elvis as Best Film. This year’s finalists include a diverse range of films such as Barbie, Mean Girls, and Wonka, and TV series like Ginny & Georgia, Outer Banks, and Young Sheldon.

The awards are part of the AACTA Festival, a four-day event celebrating Australia’s screen industry from February 8-11, featuring panels, screenings, and activities at HOTA.
