10 have today made a raft of changes to their upcoming schedules, with new episodes of Gladiators being burnt off, plus the premiere of Australian Survivor and Deal Or No Deal brought forward by a week.

Originally announced and slated to premiere on Monday 5th February, the network has announced today via social media posts that the popular reality series Survivor will instead premiere a week early on Monday 29th January.

In similar news, the change has also resulted in new 6pm gameshow Deal Or No Deal also being brought forward to now premiere on the same evening. The rebooted series will air weeknights on the network and will be hosted by former Family Feud host Grant Denyer.

It is likely that that the 29th January was the original intended launch date for Survivor, prior to the network pushing back the premiere of Gladiators Australia on two occasions to instead premiere a week later than planned.

The revised date also coincides with the launch of new Married At First Sight on Channel 9 and Australian Idol on Channel 7, and ensures the network is not at a disadvantage by premiering the latest season a week later than it’s commercial rivals.

In what can only be described as a reactionary decision following Episode 2 of Gladiators Australia losing half it’s audience on it’s second outing last night, the network will now rush through additional episodes of the rebooted series this week with Ep4 on Thursday night (The Dog Hospital With Graeme Hall is out of the schedule) and Ep5 on Friday evening with new Graham Norton instead airing at 8:30pm.

The scheduling change may also mean that 10 will need to revise the number of episodes a week they had planned to air of Survivor, which usually airs Sunday-Tuesday each week, to ensure they have enough new content available until I’m A Celebrity, Get Me Out Of Here! with new co-host Robert Irwin starts on March 24.

  1. I was so excited about Gladiators, but sadly I watched the UK version first. Channel 10 have literally done the same thing they did with It’s a Knockout when they took it overseas and rebooted it. The sets are so bright the “Marvel” vibe Liz keeps referring to show us that the clouds are held up by black rope whenever the camera is up. The set is clearly tiny and the most worrying thing is the audience almost seem like they aren’t there and their noises edited in later. What on earth were they thinking? The games and cast have been great It’s a shame they didn’t get to participate in a proper version of the show… heartbreaking if this is the last time anyone tries to do this again. Channel 7 have butchered Voice, BB and DWTS…why can’t Australia do proper big shiny floor shows correctly anymore?

    • I also watched the English show on Sunday. It was great. I was really looking forward to the new Aussie version. No audience, piped in crowd noises and lots of time time wasting which I assume is just poor editing. Dumb, probably scripted, comments and banter from the Gladiators and the contenders. I was cringing before the first game started. And who thought the costumes were a good idea? Nothing like a big beefy ex NRL player in a tight sparkly crop top. How did 10 get this so very wrong??

  2. The reason why Deal or No Deal will flop in the ratings is because of Grant Denyer. He may have been a very good bloke back more than 20 years ago, but his over the top antics (like his stupid dancing thing) made me cringe. Denyer is becoming so irrelevant these days. Look at his failures when he hosted shows on 10 – Great Australian Spelling Bee, Game of Games, Celebrity Name Game, All Star Family Feud.

  3. Gladiators probably would’ve been alright if it was 1 hour once a week & none of the crap between each challenge! We couldn’t get through the first episode as we found it annoying so recorded the second one, fast forwarded through the crap & got it down to bout half hour

  4. The problem with Gladiators is there is no mystique with the Gladiators. It’s so jarring to see the Gladiator team giggle and cackle like school children backstage, and then try and portray a persona of strength whilst competing. That’s the ultimate cringe, and that’s why the show has failed. Sad because it’s a great concept – but clearly the decision makers have no idea about what made it successful.

  5. Channel 10 got bigger problems than this due to the really bad ratings for the project it a show that needs to be shown the door and just axe it and start a whole new lot of shows that will get people interested the project is a show that has gone on to long

    • Jay Naglitsch
      Time flies 🙄
It’s A Knockout was a lot more than a few years ago
And it was a family fun staple: with teams made up of ordinary people
Not the poser brigade that they regurgitate in shit shows like Gladiator and Ninja Warrior

    • Jay Naglitsch Gladiators is not a flop, it’s Just against the Tennis, TV Blackbox say Burn off, show is not Axed.

  6. What’s the big difference between 7 9 and 10. 7 and 9 have men running the show. 10 has a women in charge. They try and do these big shows on small budgets. It doesn’t work. 7 failed with big brother and the voice.

  7. THIS IS EXACTLY WHAT I WAS WORRIED ABOUT With …. Gladiators Australia. MAYBE The Decision to LAUNCH the Series on 15th Jan 2024 BACKFIRED on the TV Network – Channel 10. IF THEY Kept IT on the ORIGINAL Date of – Jan 8, 2024 THEN MAYBE THIS Could be a WHOLE Different Story.

    • Mike Petrop it wouldn’t be. The show was scheduled for the summer because it was a risk because it isn’t very good. The limited audience reflects this, and starting it a week before the Aus Open would not have made a bit of difference.

    • TV Blackbox nothing to do with the date of launching or anything like that – they made a cheap, nasty, bad version of the franchise. The British version launched to 6M viewers beating The Masked Singer and Dancing On Ice and the Aussie version… did not – it’s pretty clear to see why, it’s not an issue with audience or timing – they made a bad production of a show that had potential to be a big show

  8. Although I don’t expect i, but if they did, somehow manage to get a second series. They should fly the hosts, gladiators and contestants (or use expats) and use the UK set.

  9. You can tell why something as SHIT as Married at First Sight always gets huge ratings in Australia by these comments. Nothing wrong with Gladiators at all, bit of fun. For some reason, everyone in Australia hates channel 10 for some reason yet 7 and 9 get massive ratings for their shows when technically they are the same sort of stuff 10 shows. Bring on Married at first Sight, Australia is waiting.

  10. Let me guess gladiator didn’t work out. Wat a load of woke 💩. Men in boob tubes looking like Sydney gay Mardi gras

  11. Wow. I was looking forward to seeing it on catch-up. Now I REALLY wanna see it! You have to wonder why any of the networks use canned audience noise.
