The Australian Academy of Cinema and Television Arts (AACTA) is thrilled to announce the return of the AACTA Audience Choice Awards for 2024.

The awards, determined by public vote, will be presented in conjunction with the 2024 AACTA Awards by Foxtel Group. The ceremony will take place at the Home of the Arts (HOTA) on the Gold Coast, scheduled for Saturday, 11 February.

In preparation for this event, AACTA engaged with their audience via social media to compile a short-list of nominees, based on thousands of responses.

The categories include favourite films, actors, TV shows, sporting moments, and digital creators. The public is now invited to cast their votes through news.com.au, supported by News Corp.

Among the notable changes this year, AACTA has updated some award categories. The Best TV Personality category has been renamed to Best Media Personality, expanding its recognition to include individuals active across various Australian platforms like television, podcasts, radio, and social media.

Additionally, the new Audience Choice Award for Best Sporting Moment category has been introduced, celebrating the past year’s remarkable achievements by Australian athletes and teams.

The 2024 award categories are as follows:

  • Favourite TV Show
  • Favourite Film
  • Favourite Actress
  • Favourite Actor
  • Favourite Australian Sporting Moment
  • Favourite Australian Media Personality
  • Favourite Australian Digital Creator

“This year, AACTA went to social media and polled their audience to tell us the stars, productions, media personalities and digital creators they wanted to see in contention for the AACTA Audience Choice Awards. Thousands of responses poured in, determining the short-list for each award.”

Voting for the awards is now open to the public and will conclude at 5pm AEDT on 25 January 2024. The nominees will be revealed on 4 February, with the winners being announced at the awards ceremony on Saturday, 10 February 2024.
