Following on from a story we brought you last month that Channel 10 had delayed the premiere date of Gladiators Australia, we can now confirm that the network has delayed the airdate by a further week.
The new premiere date is slated for the third week of January and now set to premiere on Monday Jan 15th, as seen in a screenshot of the revised promo below.
TV Blackbox understands that the network decided to again delay the premiere date due to audience research which suggested the later start would resonate with more viewers and enable them to find the rebooted version of the classic series – many for the first time.
TV Blackbox originally broke the story that Gladiators would be returning to Australian television screens in 2024 with rumours of a return with a rebooted version of the classic 90’s show, later confirmed by Channel 10 that they had picked up the series.
10 are taking a big gamble here, both with refreshing their January schedule for the second time in 2 years with January staple series I’m a Celebrity, Get Me Out Of Here! moved to April and The Bachelors moved to December (on-air now, surely it’s last season) and confusing viewers by changing the premiere date for the second time.
