The race for first and second continues to be squeaky tight.

Channel 9

A Current Affair (649,000) and the (usually on Sunday) room-reveal ep of The Block (762,000) on Nine both roll through with solid wins in their timeslots, the latter lifting week-on-week. Missing Persons Investigation (279,000) can’t compete with HYBPA (nothing can) in the later slot, while Reported Missing (130,000) finds a reasonable late evening audience.

Nine first in both primary (23%) and network (30.3%) rankings.

Channel 7

The consistent start that Home & Away (510,000) offered–it managed to crack 500k for the first time in weeks–allowed the season five premiere of SAS Australia (464,000) to come in for a hot second place in primetime for Seven (however slightly down on last season’s premiere, offering the lowest launch of the franchise). US dramas The Rookie (190,000), The Rookie: Feds (125,000), and Chicago Fire (34,000) maintain quality fan service right into late night.

Seven second in both primary (19.1%) and network (26.8%) rankings.

ABC

ABC’s current affairs evening kicked off with the solid 7:30 (542,000)/Australian Story (520,000) double, while Four Corners (371,000) and Media Watch (416,000) followed on, up on last week. Q+A (245,000) continued in the ratings doldrums (though up sizeably on the week prior) before a repeat of The Newsreader (31,000) finished out the evening.

ABC third in both primary (14%) and network (18.5%) rankings.

Channel 10

The Project (177,000 6:30pm; 283,000 7pm) opened 10’s account with a solid lift on the previous night and what will be their best in this slot this week. The Masked Singer Australia (402,000 (344,000 show; 459,000 reveal)) also delivered a reliable audience, slipping slightly on last week. Have You Been Paying Attention? (546,000) again rock solid and building on last week, before delivering an excellent linear first-run of The Betoota Advocate Presents (175,000) and a repeat of FBI: Most Wanted (64,000).

10 fourth in both primary (12.7%) and network (17.9%) rankings.

SBS

A small amount of love for SBS on Monday that started with Finding Your Roots (92,000), which ran through Scotland’s Extreme Medics (81,000) and Michael Mosley’s 21 Day Body Challenge (40,000).

SBS fifth in both primary (3.5%) and network (6.6%) rankings.
