Gold Logie nominee, Julia Morris has provided an intriguing insight into the selection process for her new co-host on the popular reality show “I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here!” following the exit of Dr Chris Brown.
Dr Chris Brown, who had been co-hosting the show alongside Julia Morris for the past nine years, made the surprising announcemnt in February that he had inked a deal with Channel Seven, leading to his departure from Channel 10 after the completion of this year’s season.
TV Blackbox has previously exclusively revealed Chris Brown is now set to host expensive new reality series Dream Home for the Seven Network.
Speaking at the Logie Award nominations event on Monday, Julia Morris confessed to Yahoo Lifestyle that while she continues to feel a pang of sadness about Brown’s absence from the show, she is eagerly awaiting the opportunity to work with a fresh face.
“It’s a new adventure that awaits us, though who will join me in this adventure is still unknown,” she stated.
Morris elaborated on the upcoming process, which involves chemistry testing with an array of potential co-hosts.
“Our candidate pool is a party of six. We aim to identify the one with whom I share the best chemistry, to embark on this new journey,” she added.
Its understood Morris will commence a process of “chemistry” tests with the six potential candidates in coming weeks. Morris also confessed that hosting the show without Brown, her partner of almost a decade, would require a radical shift in her approach.
“I’ll have to let go of the past and embrace the change. The new co-host will bring their own unique touch, and I’m optimistic about building a brand new experience together,”
she shared. She also hinted at having a dream pick for her new co-host, while choosing to keep the identity a secret for now. Names including Pete Helliar, Joel Creasey and Beau Ryan have all been rumoured to be in the running for the high-profile hosting gig.
The change in co-host, according to Morris, will play a significant role in determining her career path in the coming years.
“It’s a critical decision that could impact my professional journey, so it’s imperative for us to get it right,” she said.
Morris has been nominated for the prestigious Gold Logie Award for the second consecutive year, along with the Bert Newton Award for Most Popular Presenter. “I’m A Celebrity” has also received nominations for Most Popular Reality Program and Most Outstanding Reality Program, a category it clinched last year.
