  1. Thank you for the episode. It was very thought prevoking. Lovely hearing you today on 3aw with deedee

  2. Thank you for releasing this in full. Steve Molkentin is still my hero, and Abby’s emotion really moved me. I don’t agree with you Rob, but I admire your willingness to have the conversation and listen to other voices, even if I don’t always think you hear what they are saying.

  3. Abbey Mikkelsen, loved what you had to say. Each time topics like this come up I reflect on my white privilege. Looking at me you wouldn’t know that on one side I am a first generation Australian from refugees. I am very aware that there are others that are 3rd or 4th generation that cop racism every day just because of the colour of their skin.
It is even worse for Aboriginals as the negative stereotypes that were around when I was growing up are ingrained into the nations consciousness whether we like it or not and play into the unconscious biases that we all have.
The problem that some people have is that if they haven’t looked into things at all (any -ist) and what unconscious bias is they don’t think to question the status quo in the first place, especially if they don’t feel like they have power/privilege because of their socioeconomic circumstances.

  4. Molk I feel you for what you said about your parents. My grandparents lived in a country town and would say things that were extremely racist about aboriginals, when I my grandpa why he said that his response was that they get given housing and destroy the house, get given another one and do the same thing again, hearing that I could understand why he felt negatively. This was someone who came to Australia as a refugee at the end of WWII not speaking any English, I am told they received quite a bit of xenophobia when they arrived as it was assumed that anyone not speaking English was German

  5. Robert McKnight I will agree with you that Stan shouldn’t have been put in that situation. I didn’t watch the coronation (watched small highlights online), sounds like your thinking is that as they were walking into the Abbey they should have been doing a cross between red carpet talking about the outfits and when they have events where they almost on repeat talk about what they are expecting to happen later in the day.
I know I wasn’t their target audience, to me that is boring (once is OK but if you are watching for extended then you keep hearing it because they are aware that viewers drop in and out, also it is a neutral (for any event) way to fill time)
