Australia’s beloved TV dance competition, Dancing with the Stars, is ready to twirl back onto screens in a blaze of sequins and style, promising a season that’s set to be the biggest, boldest, and most vibrant yet.

A cavalcade of celebrities, including Olympic champions and well-known actors, are set to showcase their talents in a range of dance styles, from the fiery paso doble to the stately waltz, in their quest to claim the esteemed Dancing with the Stars crown.

Making a leap from the athletics track to the dance floor, Olympians Sally Pearson and James Magnussen are all geared up to swap their pursuit of gold medals for the glittering mirror ball trophy. Channel 7’s acclaimed show, brought to life by the charismatic duo of Sonia Kruger and Daryl Somers, boasts what’s being called the “most competitive line-up of stars we have ever had”.

The star-studded roster also includes former Masterchef judge Matt Preston, who is ready to experience the other side of critique, and Charlie Albone, the gardening sensation from Better Homes and Gardens, who will swap his landscape creations for choreographed routines.

Returning hosts Sonia Kruger and Daryl Somers will welcome AFL legend Gavin Wanganeen to the vibrant Channel 7 show, who is betting on his sporting prowess to give him a competitive edge on the dance floor.

The stage will also sparkle with the presence of accomplished actors including Christie Whelan-Browne, Home and Away’s Emily Weir, Pia Miranda, Virginia Gay, and comedian Mary Coustas, all aiming to captivate the judges with their rhythm and grace.

Adding a melody to the mix, musicians Phil Burton and Paulini are stepping into the ballroom, while Laura Byrne, the popular podcaster, radio host and former Bachelor star, brings her reality TV charm to the competition.

Completing this year’s impressive list of 14 dance aspirants is The Chase Australia’s supernerd, Issa Schultz.

“Australia can’t get enough of Dancing with the Stars and seeing their favourite faces step out of their comfort zones,”

said Angus Ross, Seven’s Chief Content Officer of Entertainment Programming.

“This is the fiercest and most competitive line-up of stars we have ever had and we can’t wait for everyone to see their moves.”

DANCING WITH THE STARS is returning soon to Channel 7 and 7plus.
