Academy Award winner Morgan Freeman is the next big name star to join the cast of the upcoming original Taylor Sheridan drama series Lioness which is being produced exclusively for Paramount+.
Lioness promises to be a thrilling and intense series, with an all-star cast, including Academy Award-winning actors Morgan Freeman and Nicole Kidman, and a captivating storyline based on real-life events.
Freeman will play Edwin Mullins, the United States Secretary of State, in the series that is based on a real-life CIA program.
The show follows the story of Cruz Manuelos (Laysla De Oliveira), a rough-around-the-edges but passionate young Marine recruited to join the CIA’s Lioness Engagement Team to help bring down a terrorist organization from within.
Series lead and executive producer Zoe Saldaña will play Joe, the station chief of the Lioness program, tasked with training, managing, and leading her female undercover operatives.
Academy Award winner and executive producer Nicole Kidman will play Kaitlyn Meade, the CIA’s Senior Supervisor, who must juggle the challenges of being a woman in the high-ranking intelligence community.
Lioness will also feature series regulars Dave Annable, Jill Wagner, LaMonica Garrett, James Jordan, Austin Hébert, Jonah Wharton, Stephanie Nur, and Hannah Love Lanier.
