After an extended absence for Australian fans, US medical drama The Good Doctor finally returns with new episodes tonight on Channel 7.

Its been a long wait for Australian fans after season 5 of the popular drama premiered in the US in September last year.

In the season premiere episode, Shaun and Lea’s upcoming engagement party has everyone in a festive mood after their return from Guatemala.

Meanwhile, a young single mother learns her son may have contracted his cancer from a surprising source, and Mateo finds out if his previous issues in America will be resolved.

The Good Doctor – Season 5, Episode 1 airs Tuesday 19 April at 9:00PM on Channel 7 and 7Plus
