Nine was always going to do big business, however Seven offered no resistance and completely gave up in primetime.
A Current Affair (816,000) goes large for Nine ahead of the season peak finale of Married At First Sight (1,207,000). Nothing came close. Similarly, the part 2/finale of Underbelly: Vanishing Act (745,000) also blitzed the competition and delivered a rare boost on part one last night. The evening then split based on footy code: 100% Footy (57,000 – BNE/SYD) or Footy Classified (91,000 – MEL/ADL/PER).
Nine first in both primary (31.3%) and network (37.7%) rankings.
The Project (303,000 6:30pm; 446,000 7pm) lifts on last Monday, while the finale of Australian Survivor (591,000 avg (551,000 finale; 631,000 winner)) bounces up to its best all season. Would I Lie To You? Australia (243,000) down due to the competition on Nine though the series is still languishing with unacceptable numbers after 9pm. A repeat of FBI: Most Wanted (99,000) fills out the schedule.
10 second in primary (14%) and third in network (19.8%) rankings.
Where would Seven be without its News product? Home & Away (511,000) up on last week a little, and the network’s best by a significant margin. Completely giving up in primetime, Seven deliver a repeat of ABBA Forever (282,000), and then the (now much) delayed finale of The Amazing Race US (121,000). The evening repeat of the 64th Annual Grammy Awards (54,000) garners little interest.
Seven third in primary (13.4%) and second in network (20.6%) rankings.
7:30 (533,000) and Australian Story (463,000) do their best against their commercial rivals, however both Four Corners (351,000) and Media Watch (361,000) suffer. China Tonight (154,000) also down by 50% on last week, and a repeat of Q+A (47,000) doesn’t add much.
ABC fourth in both primary (11%) and network (15.3%) rankings.
A consistent night (at least at the start) for SBS: Scotland: Escape to the Wilderness (128,000), Secrets of the Tower of London (127,000), and Expedition with Steve Backshall (58,000).
SBS fifth in both primary (3.8%) and network (6.6%) rankings.
