Beloved Melbourne weather presenter Paul Higgins has been suspended from work duties for his role in a serious COVID-19 workplace breach.
The Herald-Sun is reporting the veteran ABC weather presenter was suspended after failing to isolate at home while awaiting results from a PCR test.
It is understood Higgins presented multiple news bulletins in early January from the ABC’s Melbourne studio facility before he informed colleagues he had tested positive to the virus.
The Herald-Sun has also suggested that the presenter failed to wear a face mask in the workplace, even after confirming the positive test result.
Higgins has now recovered from the virus but remains off-air while an internal investigation is conducted. A spokesperson for the ABC declined to answer questions regarding the case telling TV Blackbox;
