STAN releases first look at new comedy series MACGRUBER

The series stars Will Forte, Kristen Wiig and Billy Zane with Forte’s cult SNL character MacGruber taking centre stage.

Stan today revealed the first look teaser and confirmed the premiere date for MacGruber. The star-studded comedy series, starring Will Forte as the titular MacGruber, and also featuring Kristen Wiig, Ryan Phillippe, Billy Zane, and Laurence Fishburne.

After rotting in prison for over a decade, America’s ultimate hero and uber patriot MacGruber (Will Forte) is finally released. His mission: to take down a mysterious villain from his past – Brigadier Commander Enos Queeth (Billy Zane). With the entire world in the crosshairs, MacGruber must reassemble his old team, Vicki St. Elmo (Kristen Wiig) and Dixon Piper (Ryan Phillippe) in order to defeat the forces of evil.

Starting his life as a hilarious Will Forte creation on Saturday Night Live, MacGruber finally makes his return to the small screen. Will Forte serves as writer and executive producer alongside John Solomon and Jorma Taccone who will also both direct. Lorne Michaels, John Goldwyn, Andrew Singer and Erin David also serve as executive producers. MacGruber is from Universal Television, a division of Universal Studio Group, and Broadway Video.

MacGruber premieres 17 December, the same day as the US and only on Stan.
