FOXTEL releases first official teaser for HOUSE OF THE DRAGON

The first official teaser has been unveiled for the upcoming Game of Thrones prequel series, House of the Dragon, which is currently in production and due to premiere on FOXTEL in 2022.

Based on author George R.R. Martin’s “Fire and Blood,” the series, which is set 200 years before the events of Game of Thrones, tells the story of House Targaryen. The teaser features the first official footage from the highly anticipated series, and contains several previously announced cast members, in addition to the following newly revealed cast:

Wil Johnson as Ser Vaemond Velaryon, younger brother to Corlys Velaryon and commander in the Velaryon navy; John Macmillan as Ser Laenor Velaryon, son of Corlys Velaryon and Rhaenys Targaryen; Savannah Steyn as Lady Laena Velayron, daughter of Corlys Velaryon and Rhaenys Targaryen and Theo Nate as Ser Laenor Velaryon, son of Corlys Velaryon and Rhaenys Targaryen.

Already announced to join the ensemble cast are Australia’s own Milly Alcock, star of Foxtel’s Upright as the young version of Princess Rhaenyra Targaryen and Ryan Corr as Ser Harwin Strong, Jefferson Hall as Lord Jason Lannister, David Horovitch as Grand Maester Mellos, Graham McTavish as Ser Harrold Westerling, Matthew Needham as Larys Strong, Bill Paterson as Lord Lyman Beesbury, Gavin Spokes as Lord Lyonel Strong, Emily Carey as the young Alicent Hightower, Emma D’Arcy as Princess Rhaenyra Targaryen, Matt Smith as Prince Daemon Targaryen, Steve Toussaint as Lord Corlys Velaryon, Oliva Cooke as Alicent Hightower and Rhys Ifans as Otto Hightower.

House of the Dragon is Co-created and Executive Produced by George R.R. Martin; Co-creator/Co-Showrunner/Executive Producer/Writer, Ryan Condal; Co-Showrunner/Director of pilot and additional episodes/Executive producer, Miguel Sapochnik. The series is exclusive in Australia to the FOXTEL Group.
